City tours Regensburg highlights

Regensburg

A visit to Italy’s northernmost city

The winding city centre, the many charming cafés and the colourful houses exude Italian flair in the heart of Bavaria, rightly earning Regensburg the title of “Italy’s northernmost city”. The cathedral city is also known as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Apart from the cathedral, the Stone Bridge is the city’s main landmark. But the capital of the Upper Palatinate has so much more to offer.

Traditional costume, tradition and hustle and bustle at the Regensburg Maidult

The tapping starts on Ascension Day: The Regensburg Maidult opens its beer tents, stalls and rides on May 9 - and transforms an entire district into a huge traditional costume festival until May 25. Delicious delicacies, tasty beer and an exuberant atmosphere await you at the "Vergnügungsdult", while the "Warendult" invites you to go shopping. The Dult bus takes you directly from the main station to the fairground.

Avenue of trees on the banks of the Danube

Not far from the Stone Bridge in Regensburg, the avenue path winds its way along the “Oberer Wöhrd” – a somewhat hidden row of trees made up of ancient, gnarled poplars. Explore this mysterious place together.
