International Dixieland Festival

Fancy a little journey through time? This music festival takes you back to the early 20th century in the American South. On July 27 and 28, you can enjoy jazz sounds from Czech and Italian bands, and dance the day away at parades and in lively cafés.

Sportmania

From August 16 to 24, you can try out a variety of well-known and lesser-known sports at different stations. Look forward to lots of fun and a few exciting challenges at this festival of sports and movement. Music, dance, and theatre will also be part of the program.

Festival on the Street

Looking for a great atmosphere, fantastic music, and warm summer evenings? You’ll get exactly that! From August 15 to 23, popular Czech bands from different genres will be playing in the historic city center. Whether in the bars or in front of the main stage at Republic Square, you can celebrate and dance for nine days straight.

Aquaterra

Right in the city center near the Great Synagogue, the Pilsen Zoo has an annex: Aquaterra. Here, aquarium fish, reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates offer visitors a colorful world to explore. It’s especially exciting during the guided feedings of piranhas or tarantulas.

Ghost Museum

Now it gets spooky: If you want to get closer to the figures from Czech fairy tales and legends, the Ghost Museum is the perfect place. Here you’ll encounter the legendary prince Radouš, who is said to guard Radyně Castle to this day, as well as water men, witches, fire dogs, dragons, and other fairy tale characters and mythical creatures.

Bohemia Sekt

Pilsen isn’t just about beer! "Bohemia Sekt" is one of the largest wine companies in the Czech Republic and sells millions of bottles of sparkling wine worldwide each year. During a tour, you’ll learn more about the production process and can also participate in tastings.

Puppet Museum

The world of puppets comes to life here! The Marionette Museum in Pilsen displays skilfully crafted figures and tells the story of this fascinating craft, which was recently added to UNESCO's list of intangible cultural heritage. An exciting destination for the whole family.

St. Bartholomew's Cathedral

The Pilsen cityscape is dominated by the 102.26 m high tower of St. Bartholomew's Cathedral, the tallest in the Czech Republic. Those who climb its nearly 300 steps are rewarded with impressive views, reaching as far as the Bohemian Forest and, on clear days, even the Alps.
