Cancellations on RE23 / RB23 between Weiden Hbf and Hof Hbf – Replacement by bus
From 16 June to 15 July 2025, DB InfraGO AG will carry out construction work on the line between Weiden and Marktredwitz. During this period, the route will be reduced to single-track operations, leading to restrictions in train services.
Some trains on the Oberpfalzbahn RB 23 line between Weiden (Oberpf) and Marktredwitz, as well as on the alex RE 23 line between Weiden (Oberpf) and Hof Hbf, will be cancelled. A replacement bus service will operate for affected connections. Please note that travel times may be longer due to the rail replacement service.
These construction works are part of extensive modernization measures to improve the infrastructure. The aim is to enhance the quality and punctuality of rail services on this important route. Please also take note of timetable changes and replacement transport during the track closure between Regensburg Hbf and Schwandorf.
Please consider these changes when planning your journey and, if necessary, use earlier connections to reach your onward trains. Please refer to the timetable tables for details.
