Line closure between Schwandorf and Weiden - replacement by bus
Update from September 26
Additional school buses provided (replacement service RB23 Nabburg – Schwarzenfeld)
During the complete closure of the railway line, starting Monday, September 29, additional school buses will operate between the Nabburg school center and Schwarzenfeld (replacement stop at the train station). Departure is at 1:15 PM from the Nabburg school center.
This non-stop bus service complements the regular rail replacement service along the closed railway line.
Due to construction work by DB InfraGO AG, all trains on the route between Schwandorf and Weiden will be cancelled from September 26 (9:00 PM) until October 10, 2025 (2:00 AM).
This affects:
- All oberpfalzbahn trains on line RB 23
- All alex trains on line RE 23
- All DB Regio trains on line RE 2 between Regensburg and Weiden
A replacement bus service will be provided for the affected connections.
The buses are marked as follows:

Replacement bus serving all stops between Schwandorf and Weiden (marked green in the replacement timetable)
→ replaces line RB 23 -
Express bus Schwandorf – Weiden (marked red in the replacement timetable)
→ replaces lines RE 2 and RE 23
Tickets
All tickets remain valid on the replacement buses. Tickets will not be sold on board the buses. Please purchase your ticket in advance online via Deutsche Bahn or at a ticket machine at the station.
Bicycles and strollers
Bicycles can only be taken on board if space permits and cannot be guaranteed. Strollers will be transported in limited numbers.
Accessibility
Passengers using wheelchairs or traveling with strollers are advised to register in advance, as not all buses are barrier-free. Your information will be reviewed by the customer center and forwarded to the bus company. Please use the online form provided by the mobility center.
