Rail service disruptions on the RB 28 line due to track works
From 17 August 2026 up to and including 27 September 2026, track works will result in the closure of the railway line between Lam and Bad Kötzting.
This will affect services on the Oberpfalzbahn’s RB 28 line. All train services between Lam and Bad Kötzting will be cancelled during this period. This also affects the last train service on Sunday 16 August 2026 from Bad Kötzting to Lam and the first train service in the early hours of Monday 28 September 2026 from Lam to Cham. A replacement bus service has been arranged for all cancelled trains. In some cases, the replacement service will be extended to or from Cham, depending on the route.
Passengers should please note that journey times will be longer due to the replacement service. The on-demand stops at Frahelsbruck and Watzelsteg will not be served by the replacement service! Passengers should please board at the other stops.
Connecting services from Cham to Schwandorf and Furth im Wald remain guaranteed. Passengers are also advised to note the locations of the replacement bus stops, as not all stops are near the station. The exact locations of the replacement stops are shown on the Oberpfalzbahn website at www.oberpfalzbahn.de/verkehrsmeldungen.
There is no guarantee that bicycles can be carried on the replacement buses, so passengers should refrain from bringing them. Carrying passengers takes priority at all times.
