We are the waldbahn
We are the train in the Bavarian Forest, connecting Bavarian Canada, the Bavarian Forest National Park, and the region around the Großer Arber with the cities of Deggendorf and Plattling.
The waldbahn is your train in the Bavarian Forest on four lines: RB 35 from Plattling via Deggendorf, Gotteszell, Regen, and Zwiesel to Bayerisch Eisenstein, RB 36 from Zwiesel via Frauenau and Spiegelau to Grafenau, RB 37 from Zwiesel to Bodenmais, and RB 38 from Gotteszell via Teisnach to Viechtach.

The waldbahn railway runs for Die Länderbahn
As a leading private rail transport company in local passenger transport, Die Länderbahn GmbH DLB, founded in 1889, operates the alex, oberpfalzbahn, trilex, vogtlandbahn, vlexx, and waldbahn railways and offers high-quality transport services in Germany, Czechia, and Poland.
Länderbahn also maintains workshops in Viechtach, Neumark, Schwandorf, and Zwiesel.
Since 2011, Länderbahn – and thus also waldbahn – has been part of NETINERA Deutschland GmbH. From December 2026, a large part of the S-Bahn network in central Germany will also be taken over by Länderbahn.
Introduction of the management team
Stephan Naue
ist seit dem 01.06.2023 Geschäftsführer der Die Länderbahn GmbH DLB sowie der Regentalbahn GmbH.
Stephan Naue ist ein überzeugter Eisenbahner und blickt auf eine langjährige Karriere im Schienenpersonennahverkehr zurück. Der diplomierte Wirtschaftsingenieur begann seine berufliche Laufbahn bei der Deutschen Bahn in Berlin und war zuletzt bei DB Regio Südost verantwortlich für den Verkehr im Großraum Dresden. Im Laufe seines Berufswegs befasste er sich sowohl mit den betrieblichen als auch strategischen Herausforderungen des Marktes.
Eugen Rubinstein
erweitert seit dem 01.07.2024 die Geschäftsführung der Die Länderbahn GmbH DLB sowie der Regentalbahn GmbH.
Eugen Rubinstein ist seit Oktober 2013 bei der NETINERA-Gruppe beschäftigt. Bei der NETINERA Deutschland GmbH verantwortete er drei Jahre lang als Projektleiter verschiedene Ausschreibungen. Im Jahr 2016 wechselte er zu Die Länderbahn, zunächst als Projektleiter, seit 2018 ist Eugen Rubinstein Bereichsleiter für den Bereich Markt.
